Central Region Minutes- Summer Reading Clinic
July 28, 2009
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Elaine Harris.
Introductions were made.
Treasures report was given by Tina Neiderbrach.
Tina handed out a line-by-line report.
Scott Whitfield recommended the region buy the treasurer a financial computer program. This was tabled until the Fall meeting.
Tina asked that everyone pay with a check when paying for region events.
OLD BUSINESS
Review of 2009-2010 Dates
Reminder: Fall Meeting will be Sept. 14. Location TBA
All-Region Clinic- UALR/Robinson Auditorium
Students will be bused to and from the auditorium by UALR buses.
Tina asked all directors to consider adding an intermission to this year’s concert. Issue was tabled and will be voted on in September.
Clinic performance clothes: same as last year. Please have students wear their regular choir uniforms/robes.
Those who have buses around all day may transport their own students to and from the auditorium.
UALR will prepare and print the programs. Ads will be sold to help with the cost of using Robinson Center. More information will be available at our September meeting.
Region Handbook: A rough draft will be online soon.
NEW BUSINESS
Solo Festival Date:
Currently scheduled for the night before SWADCA-Denver. Feb. 24-27. Possible vote on a date change is scheduled for September 14.
Spring Meeting: Thursday, April 1 at Sherwood First Baptist.
2009-2010 CPA Clinicians have been decided.

Mission Statement
Volunteers are needed to create a statement.
Each director should write a professional biography and submit it for director of the year.
Please e-mail Elaine ideas on future clinicians.
If a joint All-Region rehearsal is held and three or more schools attend, it must be approved by AAA.
CPA
A music approval rubric is being reworked. The Arkansas approved list will not be available this year.
Sightreading: If there are two directors in the room, only one my direct. There will be no text on the sightreading music this year.
A letter from Bennie Carol Wade Dunavan to the Central Region was read. Bennie Carol, a new director at Mayflower Schools requested to join the Central Region. A vote was taken by secret ballot. The issue passed. Mayflower Jr. High and High School choirs are in the Central Region.
