region events that will impact the final report.
SECTRETARY REPORT: Amber Holden
It was stated the minutes from the Fall meeting are on line.
OLD BUSINESS:
It was suggested we limit the number of Jr. High All-Region pieces.
A motion was made and later passed…
The final decision was 3 SATB 2 MALE 2 FEMALE with an additional Sightreading.
No action was taken on switching the Jr. High and Sr. High All-Region auditions.
NEW BUSINESS:
Future All-Region clinicians were discussed.
All-Region Clinic Concert:
The noise in the balcony has become unbearable.
A suggestion was made for ALL directors to sit in the balcony to assist with students.
It was decided that the Region will purchase name badges for all directors and a balcony
seating chart will be made for all directors.
A suggestion was made for an announcement to be made to the parents. “Please do
not go to the balcony.”
The question was raised..”can we hire two off-duty Searcy police officers to stand at
the doors in the balcony?”
Directors should remind their students to respect all adults and to tell parents and
students, they are expected to stay for the entire concert.
Directors assigned as choir monitors should address the problem of cell phones in the
balcony.
On the recommendation of the All-Region committee, we will not have a.m./p.m. audition
slots for schools.
The committee made the recommendation that we have five judges on each voice
part for Sr. High auditions.
A letter will be available to directors to give to principles explaining why we as the
director, can’t supervise our own students because we are judging.
Meeting was adjourned.
