SEArkCDA Minutes April 28, 2008
The Spring meeting of the Southeast Arkansas Choral Directors Association was held on Monday, April 28, 2008 in the home of Karen Robinson in Pine Bluff. Fifteen directors and three visitors were present: Charlotte Wilson, Chairman; Susan Buckner, Secretary; Denise Gray, Treasurer; Cara Akin, Meleah Rainey, Barbara Emory Jones, Laura Ferguson, Kathy Felts, Lucas Riley, Lucille Smith, Mary Finnie, Edmond Hampton, Charlotte Lee, LoraNelle Humphrey, Karen Robinson, Marty Seward, Bennie Carol Wade, and Jo Murry. The meeting was opened in due form by the chairperson. The minutes of the August 23, 2007 meeting were read and accepted. The treasurer reported that the region had a current balance of $6159.07. Denise asked that we combine finances for junior and senior high region events for the annual reporting purposes. It was discussed and approved, as was the current treasurers report. There was no old business to come before the group. New business: Implementation of our ADE Choral Standards in our choral music curriculum was discussed, particularly incorporating them into our preparations for state sanctioned events such as auditions for All-Region and All-State choirs and for our region and state Choral Performance Assessments.
